Gulshan Grover (; born 21 September 1955) is an
Indian actor, who has appeared in several
Hindi and
Punjabi language films.
Early life
Grover comes from a
Punjabi background. He graduated from
Shri Ram College of Commerce,
Delhi University. Fascinated by the lifestyle of rich kids, he planned to do something which would make him popular. Thus, initially it was not his major concern to be an actor of lead roles, and he almost indiscriminately accepted any role that came his way.
Film career
Grover is famous for his role as villain in many movies. He has also starred in some
Hollywood movies. His role as villain contributed to the success of
Shah Rukh Khan in his action movies, such as
Yes Boss,
Ram Jaane and
Duplicate, all of them starring
Juhi Chawla.
In 2008, he starred in a
Punjabi film for the first time, in Gurdas Mann's
Yaariyan. Since then his contribution towards Punjabi cinema has increased. He hosted the PTC music awards and his Punjabi film
Virsa was released in 2010, in which he plays a role of a
Sikh.
He was the celebrity guest of the Grand Prix of Italy held at Monza on 10 September 2006. following the suit of other Bollywood celebrities such as
Amitabh Bachchan.
Grover is also the member of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy Of Film And Television, Noida Film City.
