The Hürriyet Daily News, formerly Hürriyet Daily News and Economic Review, is the oldest current English-language daily in Turkey.

The paper was bought by the Doğan Media Group in 2001 and has been under the media group's flagship Hürriyet since 2006.


The editor-in-chief is Murat Yetkin with Taylan Bilgic serving as the managing editor of the paper.


The paper features opinion pieces from leading Turkish journalists and thinkers such as Mehmet Ali Birand, David Judson, Mustafa Akyol, Ilhan Tanir, Yusuf Kanli, Burak Bekdil and Sedat Ergin


The Daily News headquarters is based in Istanbul, with satellite offices in Ankara, Antalya, and Izmir. The Daily News can be read online at hurriyetdailynews.com or in paper format. The paper can be found in major metropolitan areas in Turkey. There are stands that carry the paper along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts of Turkey and can even be purchased in places like Zonguldak.


Recent competition to the Daily News arrived in the form of Today's Zaman, an offshoot of Turkish daily Zaman.
