Hamat Bah is a Gambian politician and leader of the National Reconciliation Party (NRP). Running as his party's presidential candidate in 2001, he placed third, winning 7.8% of the vote. He was previously a hotel worker before joining politics.
Bah was defeated in the January 2007 parliamentary election. While not mentioning Bah by name, it was thought that President Yahya Jammeh was referring to Bah and Halifa Sallah when he expressed satisfaction at the defeat of "the two empty barrels in the National Assembly".
