Harimau Muda A, or Malaysia national under-21 football team, represents Malaysia in international football competitions such as AFC Youth Championship, Champions Youth Cup and as well as any other under-21 international football tournaments. It is controlled by the Football Association of Malaysia. The team is considered to be the feeder team for the Malaysia U-23 and senior national football teams. It is for players aged 21 and less. Harimau Muda A will participate in the 2011 Super League Malaysia replacing KL PLUS FC.


In addition to entering the Malaysia national under-20 team in international competitions, the Football Association of Malaysia also enters a team made up of national under-20 players in Malaysia's domestic professional competitions under the name of Harimau Muda A.

Harimau Muda A has competed in Malaysia's domestic competitions since the 2007-08 season, and currently competes the in Malaysia Premier League and Malaysian FA Cup.

By entering Harimau Muda A domestic competitions, the FAM hopes to expose Malaysia's top under-20 players to top-level competition, thus helping to prepare them for international tournaments. As such, Harimau Muda A is one of only a few football clubs in the world which places an age restriction on team members while playing in a national professional league.

Harimau Muda A will also participate in the 2011 Super League Malaysia.
