High School Affiliated to Fudan University (复旦大学附属中学, 复旦附中) is located
Shanghai, near
Fudan University campus, and is among the most prestigious high schools in Shanghai. Each year the high school produces several hundreds of graduates most of whom get admitted into well-established universities around China as well as in foreign countries. Traditionally, however, Fudan University, one of the top universities in China, takes in most of the top graduates from the high school. The admission to the high school is open to every middle school graduates in the great area of Shanghai City and is highly competitive. Most students are selected through the High School Entrance Examination (中考).
High School Affiliated to Fudan University, a boarding key school, is now under the co-direction of Shanghai Education Commission (上海市教育委员会) and Fudan University. The high school, established in 1950, used to be appointed as a common high school directly subordinate to the leading branches mentioned above in the 1960s. Not until 1962 did High School Affiliated to Fudan University by name become one of the key schools in Shanghai.
The school has so far occupied a campus of 50,640 m<sup>2</sup>. At present, it has the construction area of about 42,000 m<sup>2</sup> and the green fields of nearly 10,500m<sup>2</sup>.
