HMCS
Huron
(G24) G24/216
was a
Tribal class
destroyer
built by
Vickers-Armstrongs
on the
River Tyne
in
England
, and served in the
Royal Canadian Navy
. It was the first ship to bear this name. She fought in
World War II
and the
Korean War
.
Huron
was paid off into reserve on 20 April 1963 and scrapped at
La Spezia
in August 1965.
Legacy
The Twin High-Angle Mk XIX Naval Gun taken off of the
HMCS Huron
was presented to the
Royal Military College of Canada
in
Kingston, Ontario
.
