Ikariotikos is a traditional dance and accompanying song originating by Ikaria () a Greek island in the Aegean Sea, At first it was a very slow dance, but today Ikariotikos is a fast dance from Aegean islands . Some specialists say that the traditional Ikariotikos was slow and the quick "version" of it is in fact a Ballos. The Ikariotikos dancing in all the Aegean islands. It is danced by Greek men and women handle mainly from the shoulders. In the first part we walking steps, while the second, which brings the rate we are quick steps and mobility of both legs and body. The most famous song that accompanies Ikaria, called "My love of Ikaros", lyrics and music are by Giorgos Konitopoulos. Some specialists say that the traditional Ikariotikos was slow and the quick "version" of it is in fact Ballos. Music and dancing are major forms of entertainment in Ikaria. Throughout the year Ikarians host baptisms, weddings, parties and religious festivals where one can listen and dance to live traditional Ikarian Music.
