Indian Institute of Management Indore is a
state funded management institute in
Indore,
Madhya Pradesh. Instituted in 1998, IIM Indore is the sixth addition to the
IIM family. IIM Lucknow awards only diplomas, and not degrees.
History
IIM Indore which came into existence in 1998, was established as the sixth Indian Institute of Management after
IIM Calcutta (1961),
IIM Ahmedabad (1963),
IIM Bangalore (1972),
IIM Lucknow (1984) and
IIM Kozhikode (1996). The institute was the youngest among IIMs till 2008, when
IIM Shillong was instituted.
The old temporary campus was located in Rajendranagar in Indore till 2002, when the institute moved to its current state of the art campus situated at
Rau on the Rau-Pithampur road close to the Pithampur
Special Economic Zone.
Admissions
The admissions to IIM Indore PGP take place through the
Common Admission Test conducted by the
IIMs and for the EPGP through the
Graduate Management Admission Test conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council, USA. Based on the performance in CAT, each institute independently shortlists prospective candidates and conducts group discussions and personal interviews.
