The
International Black Sea University (
IBSU) was established in 1995 in
Tbilisi,
Georgia.
Its
mission statement mentions the goal of improvement of current educational cooperation between the
Georgia and the
Republic of Turkey. It accepts prospective students from Turkey according to the Turkish
Öğrenci Seçme Sınavı (ÖSS) held by the (ÖSYM). This somewhat bureaucratic central student's achievement test is a mandatory precondition to university level education in Turkey which determines not only the university but also the subjects a student may choose to study.
It has 5 faculties and 6 departments and a scientific library.
The founders of the university are, besides the
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Governorship of
Dusheti, the Turkish firms Mars and Çağlar.
International Black Sea University(IBSU) Founded in 1995, IBSU is a University that has the objective of training Georgian and foreign students in scientific, technical and professional fields of study, and of utilizing these studies in the field of pure and applied research for contributing to the economic and social necessities of Georgia and other developing countries. Since its inception the language of instruction has been English.
