Islampur (, ) is a city and a notified area in
Nalanda district in the
Indian state of
Bihar.
Geography
Islampur is located at . It is situated at a distance of 65 kilometres from Patna, the state capital of Bihar. It has an average elevation of 63 metres (206 feet).
Islampur is not a "City". Politically and demographically it is something between a town and a village which is called a Notified Area. Islampur has a Nagar Palika (Municipal Council). Islampur is also known as Islampur Nagar Panchayat.
Places of Interest
There is a very ancient
monument called Dilli Darbaar or Bauli Bagh, probably built by
Moghals . Apart from this, a very old pond is situated here which is popularly called Pakki Talao. Surya Mandir, Maa Durga Shaktipeeth, Projanibaag are other important places for the purpose of sightseeing.Now, An old hospital situated at Shivpuri is known as Ghost's house. Many people come and visit with terror and Interest.
