Description:
Ittefaq is a 1969 Hindi movie produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by his brother Yash Chopra. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Nanda, Bindu, Madan Puri, Iftekhar and has music by Salil Choudhury. The film became a "semi-hit" at the box office. It is a remake of the British film Signpost to Murder (1965) starring Joanne Woodward.It is one of few Bollywood movies that did not have any singing or dancing in it.

Plot Summary

Dilip Roy (Rajesh Khanna) is a painter who is being tried for murdering his wife. He claims to have blacked out during a fight with her, but does not remember killing her. During the trial, he is sent to a mental hospital. He escapes from there and ends up at Sushma's (Nanda) house and holds her at gunpoint. He wants to spend the night there due to heavy storm. However, police are searching for him and they visit the house, as do many others. Dilip is successful to evade all visitors by threatening Sushma. Things are going fine for him until he sees a dead body in the house ...
