Jamar Mondell Fletcher (born August 28, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American football cornerback who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins 26th overall in the 2001 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wisconsin. His older brother Jason Fletcher is an American sports agent.

Fletcher has also played for the San Diego Chargers, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals.

Early years

Fletcher played high school football at Hazelwood East.

College career

At Wisconsin, Fletcher won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's best defensive back. He was also a key member of the Badger' back-to-back Rose Bowl Champion teams. Named to the Top 100 Greatest College Players by America's Best & 10. Is the Wisconsin All Time Interception Leader with 21 total interception in three seasons of college football. A member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

Professional career

Miami Dolphins

Fletcher was originally a first round pick in the 2001 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins out of the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

San Diego Chargers

In 2004, Fletcher was traded to the San Diego Chargers.

Detroit Lions

It was announced that Fletcher signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions on May 1, 2006.

Houston Texans

In 2007 Fletcher signed with the Houston Texans.

Cincinnati Bengals
