Jason James (musician)

Jason 'Jay' James, (born 13 January 1981), is a Welsh musician best known for being the bassist and backing vocalist for Welsh heavy metal band Bullet for My Valentine. He performs with Matt Tuck (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Michael Paget (lead guitar, backing vocals), and Michael Thomas (drums). James has been with the band since 2003 and replaced former bassist Nick Crandle.

James sometimes takes the role of lead vocals where he sings and/or screams the majority of the lyrics. Examples of this are in the songs "Last to Know" (Scream Aim Fire) and "No Control" (Hand of Blood). His vocals are usually screams although he does sometimes sing.

Before his time in Bullet For My Valentine, James was the bassist and screamer in the Bridgend metal band N.U.K.E.

Personal life

Back in his hometown, James is a single father. His daughter's name is Abigail.
