Javed Burki (Urdu: جاوید برکی) (born May 8, 1938, Meerut, British India) is a former Pakistanicricketer who played in 25 Tests from 1960 to 1969 and eventually become an ICC match referee. Burki received his early education from St. Mary's Academy, Rawalpindi and Aitchison College, Lahore. He also played cricket while studying at Oxford University (1958–1960).
Family
Javed Burki is the son of General Wajid Ali Khan Burki (1900–1988). General Burki's sister-in-law, Shaukat Khanum, was the mother of Imran Khan, the current founder/leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party. Javed's other cousin Majid Khan also served as Pakistan's Cricket Captain.
