Jean Isobelle Melzer (born 7 February 1926) was an Australian Senator representing the Australian Labor Party and the state of Victoria. She was elected on 18 May 1974 she served two terms, she was defeated at 1980 elections as she was placed third on the Labor ticket.

She also stood as the lead Victorian senate candidate for the Nuclear Disarmament Party in the 1984 election. She received 7.1% of the vote, but no seat.

Jean Melzer has been the president of U3A Network Victoria.
