Jeet Ganguly (born
Chandrajeet Ganguly Bengali: চন্দ্রজিৎ গাঙ্গুলী), or
Jeet as he is known to many, is a
music director and
composer for
Tollywood and
Bollywood movies. He was formerly teamed with
Pritam.
Born in a distinguished family with a rich cultural heritage in North Kolkata, Jeet was initiated into the world of Sur, Laya and Taal at the age of three. Jeet has been trained in both Indian and Western classical music. Absorbing the best of these two streams of music, Jeet today is a successful music director in Mumbai.
Jeet got his first break when
Sanjay Gadhvi was signed on to direct
Tere Liye and he, in turn, signed on his friends Jeet and Pritam as music composers. In 2002
Yash Raj Films signed Gadhvi up to direct
Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, for which the Jeet-Pritam duo once again composed the music. All the songs from that movie were hits.
After the duo parted ways, Jeet has started scoring music for Hindi and Bengali films, TV serials and jingles.
