Jeff Hephner is an
American actor, known for his recurring role as
Matt Ramsey during the third season of
The O.C., and as the lead Morgan Stanley Buffkin in the 2008 television series
Easy Money. He currently plays the recurring role of football coach Red Raymond on
The CW series
Hellcats, and will co-star in the Starz series Boss opposite Kelsey Grammar, which
Gus Van Sant will direct.
Early life
Born to Tom and Patti Hephner, Jeff Hephner grew up in the small town of
Sand Creek near
Adrian, Michigan, where he graduated from Sand Creek High School. In high school he played
basketball and
football. He was named to the academic all-state team for Class C-D for the 1993-1994 season.
He played basketball and attended
Calvin College for two years, and then
Ferris State University for two years. Both colleges are in the
Grand Rapids, Michigan, area.
Career
He began his Hollywood career with small roles in two feature films: in 2000's
Tigerland, starring
Colin Farrell, and as a waiter in the 2002 film
Maid in Manhattan, alongside
Jennifer Lopez. He had starring roles in two small films,
The Outlands and
So How Do You Feel About Your Watch, both released in 2002.
After appearing in ten episodes of
The Jury as "Keenan O'Brien", he also appeared in the 2005 episode "The Unblinking Eye" on
Criminal Intent, as Michael Pike.
