Joseph V. Egan (born February 27, 1938) is an American Democratic Party politician, who represents the 17th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he has served since 2002.

He serves in the Assembly on the Labor Committee (as Chair) and on the Telecommunications Committee. He has also served on the New Brunswick City Council since 1982., New Jersey Legislature. Accessed February 20, 2008.

He simultaneously holds a seat in the New Jersey General Assembly and on the New Brunswick City Council.
