() is a village in Pulicherla Mandal
in the Chittoor
District of the state of Andhra Pradesh
. It lies 45 kilometers north of Chittoor
and 10 kilometers south of Pileru
and 54 kilometers south west of Tirupati
on the NH(National Highway)18.
The famous Kanipakam
with swayam bhuva vinayaka idol is 45 km away from Kallur. The Ayyappa swami temple (10 km away on Punganur
road)and Lord shiva temple(6 km away in pulicherla) are also good temples to visit.
It is a junction point connecting the important towns Punganur
in the district. The closest railway station is Piler, 10 km away. It is an economic center for many villages surrounding it. The town has a high percentage of Muslims
who coexist peacefully along with their Hindu
neighbors. Kallur is famous for Tomato, Banana and retail market. Jaggery is also available.

is a combination of two Tamil
which means Vilage of Stones
language. This place is important for its granite stones. In ancient days, this region was part of Tamil country of Thondai
