Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology (KNIT), is a state government funded engineering college in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.


KNIT was established as the Faculty of Technology in Kamla Nehru Institute of Science and Technology, Sultanpur, in 1976 by the Kamla Nehru Memorial Trust. It was taken over by the government of Uttar Pradesh in 1979 with a view to develop an engineering institute in the Eastern UP region, better known as the Awadh region. In 1983 it was registered as a separate society and renamed as the . In 1986 it became an autonomous institute of Avadh University which was later renamed Ram Manohar Lohia University. In 2000, the Uttar Pradesh government established a separate technical university, Uttar Pradesh Technical University, and affiliated all the state owned engineering colleges to UPTU.
