Kasautii Zindagii Kay

Kasautii Zindagii Kay (English- The Test of Life) was an Indian drama-series that aired on STAR Plus from 2001 to 2008. The series is produced by popular Indian soap opera producer, Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms. The series was a daily soap that follows the adventure story of two lovers Anurag and Prerna. This show is ranked number 3 on the list of STAR Plus top 10 shows of all time. Totaling 1400 episodes, it is India's fifth longest running serial.

Plot

Prerna Sharma and Anurag Basu are children of two great friends. Their father decide to get them married when they grow up but the two at first don't like the idea. But after they grow up, they meet in collage and soon fall in love with each other. Anurag's mother however don't want them to get married because Prerna comes from a middle class family. She also doesn't approve her husband's friendship with Prerna's father. Prerna's father passes away and Prerna feels hurtbroken. Anurag supports her and ends up consummating his love with her!! Anurag's mother schemes and Anurag finally agrees to marry Komolika (his mother's friend's daughter). Prerna finds out she is pregnant. After nine months, she gives birth to Prem. The story takes a leap of 8 years and Prem is 8 years old. Prem is the apple of Prerna and Anurag's eyes. In a shocking twist we come to know that Komolika doesn't love Anurag!
