Description:
Katy Lynn Taylor (born October 22, 1989) is an American figure skater. She is the 2006 Four Continents Champion and the 2006 U.S. national pewter medalist.

Biography

Taylor was born in Houston, Texas to Thomas Keith Taylor and Tamalynn Kenimer. She has an older brother, Brennan. She has been skating since she was six years old. She trains at the Willowbrook Aerodome and the Sugarland Ice and Sports Center.

A surprise 4th place finish at the 2006 US National Championships earned her a spot at the Four Continents Championships in Colorado. Despite placing 2nd in both the short and long programs, Taylor earned enough total points to win, her first win on the senior tour. She was also the 1st alternate to the 2006 Winter Olympics and the 1st alternate to the World Figure Skating Championships.

Taylor suffered from boot problems during the 2006-2007 season and had disappointing results. She did not compete in the 2007-2008 season, citing an injury, and has not returned to competition since.
