Kenny Live was an Irish chat show presented by Pat Kenny and was broadcast live on Saturday nights after the main evening news. The show was broadcast during the autumn-summer season (September - May) and grew out of two other failed chat shows, Saturday Live and The Pat Kenny Show. It was first broadcast on RTÉ One on Saturday 15 October 1988. Kenny Live featured guest interviews and live music from guest music groups and featured a mix of serious discussion and light chat aimed at a younger audience than its main rival, The Late Late Show. The programme ended on 22 May 1999 as Pat Kenny was announced as Gay Byrne's successor as host of The Late Late Show.
