Kieran Prendiville (born 25 December 1947, Rochdale, Lancashire) is a television writer, producer and presenter.

Early years

Kieran grew up in England where his father (a native of Killorglin, County Kerry) had emigrated to practise medicine. He attended the same Jesuit boarding school (Clongowes Wood College) in County Kildare, Ireland as his father.

Writing credits

His writing credits include Boon (Central/ITV) and Roughnecks (BBC); he was also the creator of BBC's drama, Ballykissangel.

From 1973 to 1978 he was paired with Glyn Worsnip as a presenter on the BBC consumer programme That's Life!, and he has also presented for the same network the science programme Tomorrow's World, on which he famously claimed that the CD was indestructible, demonstrating this by spreading strawberry jam on a copy of the Bee Gees' Living Eyes. He was BBC television's choice for on-site commentator of the first space shuttle mission, reporting from Cape Canaveral and Edwards Air Force Base.

He has received praise for his drama, Care, about child abuse in a Welsh children's home.
