Kilvelur

<!-- See WikiProject Indian cities for details -->Kilvelur () is a panchayat town in Nagapattinam district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is 12&nbsp;km east of Tiruvarur, 12&nbsp;km west of Nagapattinam and 6&nbsp;km west of Sikkal a famous Muruga shrine. It is famous for its magnificent Akshyalingaswamy temple that was glorified in the immortal song of Muthuswami Dikshitar - Akshaya Linga Vibho in the Ragam Sankarabharanam.

Demographics
