Kings Cross railway station is an underground railway station in Sydney, Australia. The station is on the Eastern Suburbs line, one of the Sydney underground railways. It serves the busy Kings Cross area, which is the densest residential area in Australia. Kings Cross is well-known as the location of Sydney's red-light district.

The station was opened in 1979 upon the completion of the eastern suburbs line.

Platforms and services

This station is served by four, five, six to seven trains per hour for most of the time, with additional trains at weekday peak hours. From 10 October 2010 new City Rail timetables were introduced, most weekends and some weekdays South Coast Line services trains started and terminated at the last stop Bondi Junction.

This station has a frequency of six to eight trains per hour during the off peak and weekends as of 10 October 2010, with additional trains during weekday peak hours.
