Knight Frank LLP is a multinational real estate and property service firm founded in London in 1896. Knight Frank together with its New York-based affiliate Newmark Knight Frank is one of the world's leading independent global property consultancies.
It has 207 offices in 43 countries, with staff of over 6,000. The group handled over US$886 billion worth of commercial, agricultural and residential real estate in 2008-9, advising clients ranging from individual owners and buyers to major developers, investors and corporate tenants.
History
The French firm was founded in 1972. Knight Frank & Rutley is an earlier name of the firm. Sir Howard George Frank, 1st Baronet was an estate agent recognised as the "head" of the profession in Britain. He was head of the firms of Knight, Frank & Rutley of London and Walton & Lee of Edinburgh and was president of the Estate Agents' Institute from 1912 to 1914.
