Lagan () is a town in the southeastern part of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, a few kilometers from the Caspian Sea. Population: 14,345 (2002 Census), it supposed to be a second big town in Kalmykia after the capital Elista. It is located at . The town was founded in 1870. Town status granted in 1963. Until 1991 it was known as Kaspiysky. Most of the population in Lagan are Buddhists. There is a Buddhist temple on the territory of Lagan, known as Dardeling Temple.
