The airline was established in May 2003 and started operations on 16 June 2003. LAN Airlines of Chile had a 49% stake in the LAN Dominicana.In April 2005 the 4M code was reassigned to Aero 2000, which was officially designated "dba Lan Argentina" in June 2005.
