Latvian humour often includes jokes from different places around the world.
Latvian humour music is full of great artists and comedians. Some of best examples are
Ballad About the Swan by
Pērkons , many songs by
Labvēlīgais Tips led by
Andris Freidenfelds (also known as Fredis), songs by
Kaspars Upaciers (also known as UFO), "Bet Bet" managed by
Zigfrīds Muktupāvels and many more comedic music groups.A good example of a band in this genre is Brāļi Laivinieki (Boatman brothers) that played before 1940. They sang mainly about everyday life, love, the rich and the poor, etc using humorous puns.
Latvians find it more funny to play around with words, twist one's words and turn them into an inside or dirty joke on the fly before one finishes speaking, still preserving neutrality (
double entendre).
