Description:
Left Democratic Front (LDF) is a coalition of left winged political parties in the state of Kerala, in India. This is one of the two major political coalitions in Kerala, each of which have been in power alternatively for the last two decades. LDF is the coalition that is presently in power. The coalition consists of Communist Party of India (CPI(M)), CPI, RSP, and others.

Since 2006 LDF controls a majority of 99 seats (out of a total of 140 seats) in the state legislative assembly. After the 2006 Assembly Election, veteran CPI(M) leader V.S. Achuthanandan is heading the LDF government in Kerala.
