Leonardo da Silva Moura (born October 23, 1978 in Niterói) simply known as Leonardo Moura a Brazilian right back. He currently plays for Flamengo, and is also the team's vice-captain. (in Portuguese). Flamengo.com.br. Retrieved September 20, 2010.


Leonardo is the player with the most matches played for Flamengo among the current club's squad. Leonardo is also included in the group of players who wore the uniforms of the four biggest clubs and rivals of Rio de Janeiro city, Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, Fluminense and Botafogo.



After his arrival in the middle of 2005, Leonardo became one of main players and an idol for the supporters helping the survive in the Brazilian Série A and avoid relegation.


He won his first career title when Flamengo won the 2006 Brazilian Cup and returned to Copa Libertadores after four years absent. The club finished the League in a safe eleventh place.

2006 was the beginning of a new age in Flamengo, Leonardo Moura was the highlight, along with Renato, Juan, and Bruno, Leo Moura helped the club return to the top clubs in the Brazilian football.


In 2007 Leonardo won Rio de Janeiro State League but the team failed to impress in the Copa Libertadores. However he was an important player in the incredible comeback made by Flamengo to finish Série A in third place that season.
