LFC TV

LFC TV is the dedicated official channel for English football club Liverpool Football Club which launched on 20 September 2007. It was formerly offered as part of the Setanta Sports package, but is currently a stand-alone free-to-view channel.

The channel has also always been broadcast live on the club's as part of the e-Season Ticket subscription, the site's premium content offering.

History

Liverpool FC TV (abbreviated LFC TV) is a dedicated channel, similar to ones such as the now defunct Arsenal TV, Celtic TV and Rangers TV (all of which were also operated by Setanta Sports), as well as active channels MUTV and Chelsea TV. Irish broadcaster Setanta Sports signed the multi-million euro deal to secure exclusive distribution rights for the channel from launch-date in September 2007, to the UK and Ireland.

Setanta declined to put a value on the three-year deal, but sources said it would be "in the low millions". This figure includes rights payments from Setanta to Liverpool, as well as payments for a package of marketing and promotional rights.

The channel is broadcast seven days a week between the hours of 10:00 UTC and 01:30 UTC. Due to the demise of Setanta Sports' UK Division, it is currently possible to view the channel for free, should you subscribe to Sky Television or Virgin Media's XL Pack.
