York City Football Club is an English association football club based in York, North Yorkshire and currently play in the Conference National. The club was founded in 1922 and was entered into the Midland League, where the team played until 1929 when they were admitted into the Football League. They were members of the League until 2004 when they were relegated to the Conference National.

Honours and achievements

York City have won one major honour in English football, winning the Football League Fourth Division in the 1983–84 season with 101 points, becoming the first team in the Football League to do so. They have also achieved promotion on five other occasions, most recently in the 1992–93 season, when they won the Football League Third Division play-offs.
