Lourdes School Quezon City is a
private,
Catholic educational institution owned and founded by the
Capuchins in
Quezon City,
Philippines, beside the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes. The school is also known by the acronym
LSQC, which differentiates it from its
sister school,
Lourdes School of Mandaluyong (LSM).
The school is named after and devoted to the
Our Lady of Lourdes and is under the patronage of
St. Francis of Assisi.
School Program
The Lourdes School Quezon City offers four levels of education:
High school,
Grade school, Preparatory school, and
Kindergarten. Historically, LSQC was an exclusive school for boys across all levels; however, in the late 1970s, the high school department began admitting girl scholars and in the late 90's eventually became fully
coeducational.
Students who cannot afford the tuition fee may avail of the school's Financial Assistance Program which offers study grants to academically competent children from low-income families.
Official Seal
The school's seal features the motto "Pax et bonum", a traditional Franciscan greeting which means "Peace and goodwill" or "Peace and the good" (often imprecisely translated as "Peace and
all good". Note that the word "all", in any of its Latin translations, does not appear in the phrase).
