Lufeng, Guangdong

Lufeng City () is a county-level city in the Shanwei municipal region, Guangdong, on the South China Sea coast, east of Hong Kong.Lufeng City is situated next to the county of Haifeng (also under Shanwei but not yet upgraded); the area is sometimes conjointly referred to as Hailufeng.

Demography

The majority of residents are of Hoklo heritage; the rest are Hakka. Therefore both Min Nan and Hakka dialects are spoken, in addition to Mandarin which is used in official and public life. The Hailufeng dialect, however, only refers to the Hokkien variant.

Administration

As of 2005 year's end, the city comprises three street committees (街道, jiedao) and 17 towns . These are organised into 47 Block committee (居委会) and 280 Village committees 。

The city's executive, legislature and judiciary are seated in Donghai , together with the CPC subbranch and PSB substation (派出所, paichusuo).
