Mir Mahbub Ali Khan Siddiqi (Nawab Siraj ud Dowlah)was born on August 17, 1866. He was the only son of Nawab Afzal-ud-Daula. When his father died he was two years and seven months old, and thus became the Sixth Nizam of the Asaf Jahi dynasty in 1869. He was installed as Nizam by Mir Turab Ali Khan, Salar Jung I the Great, Nawab Rasheeduddin Khan Shams-ul-Umra III who functioned as the Regent. Shams-ul-Umra III died on December 12, 1881 and Salar Jung become the sole regent.He remained administrator and Regent until his death.
