<!-- See WikiProject Indian cities for details -->Mainpuri (, ) is a city and a municipal board in Mainpuri district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of the Mainpuri district and is situated to the north-east of Agra.


Mainpuri got its name from Chaman/Myan Rishi. The city has some very old and popular Hindu temples. Popular temples include Sheetla Devi Temple, where every year during April Rural Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair is held for 20 days. Bhimsen Mandir is an ancient Shiv temple, besides "Falahari Ashram" situated on Jyoti-Devi Road has very rare Statue of Goddess Durga with 18 Arms. Also located on Devi road are twin Shiv Temples of Kale Mahadev and Shweat Mahadev. Hanuman Temple situated at Old Tehsil Road is visited by thousands every Tuesdays and Saturdays.

In Mainpuri there are seven strong villages of Chauhans, viz., Odhenya, Padariya, Nagla Jula, Ikari, Jhinjhayi, Bichiya, Nauner and Ujhaiya. The Bheroo baba mandir is situated in this village.There are also strong villages of Brahmins. Aryapur Khera or popularly known as Alipur Khera is one of them. It is famous for it's strong Brahmins (Pandeys). There are many viillages of YADAV's. They are JAURAI, GHUSUPUR GHAMURRA, NIHALPUR, NAGLA BALSINGH. The Gram Pradhan of gram panchayat Dharmangadpur is Mrs Mithlesh Kumari Yadav W/o Mr Sukhveer Singh Yadav from vill Jaurai
