Sir Malcolm Wallace (c. 1249 - August 23, 1305 (death date of William Wallace)), Lord of Elderslie, Scotland, was a small landowner in Renfrew, and father of Scottish national hero William Wallace. He was married to (Lady Margaret Craufurd was married to Adam Wallace). They had five children: Two older girls, then Malcolm, Sir William, and Sir John. (The children are correct for Adam Wallace and Margaret Craufurd) (Blind Harry invented the tale of Wallace's father Adam and brother John being killed in 1291) When Sir Malcolm and his son Malcolm 2nd refused to swear allegiance to Edward I of England, they stole away in hiding for several months. Upon their return, at the Battle of Loudoun Hill, they were ambushed by the English and killed brutally. (See the biography of William Wallace for better information).
