Martin Lesley Crandall (born April 20, 1975) is the former keyboardist of The Shins, who also played bass guitar during some live performances, allowing fellow band member Dave Hernandez to play electric guitar. This happened as The Shins move away from the keyboard-drenched reverb of their debut album Oh, Inverted World towards the cleaner guitar driven sounds of their album Chutes Too Narrow. Crandall is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, but spent some of his high school years in Las Vegas, Nevada (where he formed a band called Captain Go). He previously resided along with the rest of the band in Portland, Oregon.

Crandall is featured extensively in Current TV documentary All Eyes on The Shins.

Crandall was arrested on January 4, 2008, after allegedly assaulting girlfriend Elyse Sewell, a former America's Next Top Model contestant, in a hotel in Sacramento, California; he was charged with domestic assault.

In an interview with the Singapore Straits Times, Sewell stated she had ended her relationship with Crandall due to his infidelities while she was overseas working in Japan, but they had reconciled previous to the assault.

The domestic violence case was dismissed on January 8, 2008 due to the lack of interest from Sewell to pursue further legal action.
