Metro Rail is the rapid transit rail system consisting of three light rail lines and two heavy rail lines serving 70 stations on of track in Los Angeles County, California. It connects with both Metro liner Bus rapid transit system and with the Metrolink commuter rail system which operate in the same area.

The system, which is owned and operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), started service in 1990 and achieved a daily weekday ridership of over 300,000 . A number of extensions are under construction or at the planning stage.

Metro is the indirect descendant of the Pacific Electric Red Car and Los Angeles Railway Yellow Car lines which operated between the late 19th century and the 1960s.
