Mount Carmel School at Akola was established in 1977(16th july) by Rev. Fr. Nobert Braganza and under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Joseph Rosario (co-founder), the former bishop of Amravati. The school's first class consisted of 30 students.Now the principal of this school is Rev.Fr.George Vadapadavil.
The school educates around 4,000 students. It has a staff of around 110, out of which 70 are teaching staff. The school has a library with more than 10,000 books. School students have access to Science Laboratories and Computer Labs. The school provides its students with opportunities for participation in sports and arts activities.
