Mount Carmel High School at Akola is one of the best Secondary and Higher Secondary School in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in India. The school is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Government of Maharashtra, India. It is administered and maintained by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Amravati. It is primarily a Catholic school, but is open to people of all faiths.right|thumb|Mount Carmel High School, Akola.


Mount Carmel School at Akola was established in 1977(16th july) by Rev. Fr. Nobert Braganza and under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Joseph Rosario (co-founder), the former bishop of Amravati. The school's first class consisted of 30 students.Now the principal of this school is Rev.Fr.George Vadapadavil.


The school educates around 4,000 students. It has a staff of around 110, out of which 70 are teaching staff. The school has a library with more than 10,000 books. School students have access to Science Laboratories and Computer Labs. The school provides its students with opportunities for participation in sports and arts activities. It also promotes NCC, Scouts & Guides and RSP activities among students. Scholarships are available on the basis of students academic record.
