Mr. Potato Head was an American comic strip. It was the satellite strip of Garfield. It was launched on July 16, 2001, and drawn by Garfield creator Jim Davis and his assistant Brett Koth, who also did most of the strip's lettering. Although Koth had been assisting Davis for years this was the first time he had received co-credit with the cartoonist on a strip since late 1988 and 1989, when Koth began signing his name to Orson's farm'.The strip followed the day-to-day life of Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and their children, teenage daughter Julienne and grade schooler Chip. Mr. Potato Head worked as a vice president of toy development at a company, and his being a toy was often used as a punchline in stories. Mrs. Potato Head wrote a gardening advice column.

Despite the high hopes of both Jim Davis for the strip and a collection being published the strip became unpopular and ended in 2003.
