Natural Gas

Natural gas delivered to industrial customers averaged $4.92 per thousand cubic feet (mcf) in this fourth quarter, down from $7.67 in the same three months of 2008, and forecasts put the price average at $7.48 in the first quarter of 2010. Recent spikes in futures amid forecasts for colder-than-normal temperatures in early 2010 aren't expected to last very long because of continued natural-gas insertions into already huge stockpiles.
