Ner Middleswarth (December 12, 1783 – June 2, 1865) was a Pennsylvania businessman and longtime politician.

Middleswarth was born on December 12, 1783 in New Jersey, of Dutch ancestry. His 3rd great grandfather, Teunis Nyssen Denyse, was a 1638 immigrant to New Amsterdam. Ner had only three months of formal schooling, and for the most part was a farm boy living in a rough but wholesome fashion. He was self-taught in both the English and Pennsylvania German languages and spoke both fluently.
