NSIT was formerly known as Delhi Institute of Technology (DIT) and had its campus at Kashmere Gate, New Delhi until 1997. The present campus is located at Sector-3, Dwarka, New Delhi - 110 078. Professor Raj Senani
is currently the Director of the institute.
Until 2009, NSIT shared its admission procedure and syllabus for B.E courses with Delhi College of Engineering
, both of which were prescribed by the Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi. But with the conversion of Delhi College of Engineering (DCE
) into Delhi Technological University
has become the only engineering college (technical institute) of the University of Delhi.
Ever since the inception of M.Tech
programs in NSIT, it (NSIT
) is conducting these programs independently under the Faculty of Technology, University of Delhi.
