Milford Gurudwara,
New England Sikh Study Circle is the oldest and largest
Gurudwara (
Sikh temple) in
Massachusetts.
NESSC Milford is supported by about 200 families in
Greater Boston area. NESSC also runs a
Punjabi school, a
Gurbani recital school and a small
Sikh library.
History
Established in 1968, the NESSC started monthly meetings in rented premises before moving to a permanent location in
Milford.
Organization
New England Sikh Study Circle is governed by a constitution drafted in 1971. The center is managed by Committee nominated by members for yearly terms.
NESSC was incorporated on April 5, 1977 under the laws of
Massachusetts, and has been granted a tax-exempt status by
Internal Revenue Service.
Location
NESSC is located on
MA Route 16 at 224 East Main Street,
Milford MA 01757. The organization moved to present building in 1991, which was converted from an older
Kingdom Hall.
Weekly Program
Routine congregations are held on Sundays and other significant occasions. Community Lunch or
Langar is served by volunteers and officials of the NESSC.
