Nitish Bharadwaj (also called
Nitesh Bharadwaj) (
Marathi: नितीश भारद्वाज) is an
Indian actor and former member of the
Lok Sabha. He is best known for his portrayal of
Lord Krishna in
B. R. Chopra's television series
Mahabharat, as well as for his portrayal of several
Avatars of
Vishnu in some of Chopra's other works, such as
Vishnu Puran.

Career
Nitish Bharadwaj hails from the Chitrapur Saraswat community (
Konkani). He has also starred in many
Marathi movies like
Anapekshit as well as in a highly acclaimed
Malayalam movie
Njan Gandharvan (1991) directed by
P. Padmarajan. He is a qualified veterinary doctor from
Mumbai. He has contested the parliamentary elections from
Jamshedpur and
Rajgarh (in
Madhya Pradesh) as a
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and was elected to
Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament from
Jamshedpur in 1996. He directed a historical TV serial titled 'Gita Rahasya', 'Apraadhi' for Star TV & a few documentary films.
Personal Life
Nitish Bharadwaj was married twice.His first wife was Monisha, daughter of veteran journalist and editor of Femina, Vimla Patil.Monisha and Nitish had a strong marriage and they even had two children.But their time together ended abruptly, and their bond went sour in 2005 when they applied for a divorce.
