P. Janardhan Reddy popularly known as
PJR (January 12, 1948 – December 28, 2007), was an Indian politician and labour leader. He had served as
MLA five times for the
Hyderabad constituency of
Khairtabad. He was MLA for the constituency in 1978, 1985, 1989, 1994, and 2004 until his death. He belonged to the Congress party.
Early life
P. Janardhan Reddy was born in
Hyderabad to P. Papi Reddy and Shivamma. He did his
Polytechnic Diploma.
Political career
P. Janardhan Reddy started his career as a
trade union leader in 1967.
He was first elected to the assembly in 1978. He was Labour Minister in the ministry headed by his mentor
T. Anjaiah in 1980. He was the CLP leader from 1994 till 1999.
He had been a known loyalist of Gandhi family (
Indira,
Sanjay,
Rajiv, and
Sonia).
He is the only Leader in AP with a temple built for him. Even today people convey their gratitude for the great leader who had been always as a support for the poor and needy.
Death
Reddy suffered a
