Pampore is located at . It has an average elevation of 1,574&nbsp;metres (5,164&nbsp;feet). The town is situated on the eastern bank of Veth also known as Jehlum (in Urdu).


India census, Pampore had a population of 46,595. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Pampore has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 49%. In Pampore, 7% of the population is under 6 years of age.Some nearby villages are Chandhara, Konibal, Shaheed Khalil-ul-Rehman Colony, Shaheed Sheikh Muzamil Link Road, Shaheed ed. Sheikh Azad Road,(Tul Bagh),Nambalbal,Drangbal, Kadalabal, Frestabal, Meej, Shaheed Saqib-Shuib Road, Zantraag,Dusso, Androssa, Gundbal,Ladhoo, Shar,Khrew and Wuyan,Gulzarpora (Chutlum)..
